This painting came to me to help me move some blocked emotional energy in my body. My husband and I were exhausted from a year long journey of looking for our third act home. We usually found homes very quickly with a lot of synchronicities. This time was totally different. We were looking for a home that would fit the type of lifestyle we wanted for our golden years. For the first time in our life, we could move anywhere, and we thought that would be a fun adventure to discover. In fact, I told my husband who was more ready to move than I was…I’m ready if it is going to be an adventure. Sometimes we don’t know what we are asking for and something it might just be a good thing. Ha!

When you have no specific boundaries of a particular area, it actually becomes much more difficult to zone in to find a home. So we looked everywhere. At first, it was fun, and then it became exhausting and even though I know, home is within, wherever I am, I felt very ungrounded. I miss that feeling of being rooted to a certain place.

This painting represents the struggle and exhaustion I was feeling. I was almost ready to give up on the dream home feeling that existed within me and just choose whatever showed up. But then I heard my Higher Self say, “paint the emotions onto the canvas it will open the door to your dreams.”

My art has always come from a conversation with my Higher Self and Inner Child. Each painting is a healing journey that encourages me to listen more deeply so I can hear my inner child and discover my hidden dreams. This one was truly a gift.

****After I finished the painting I realized it looked like a horse that I know quite well, named Happy.. He was the first horse I rode on the beach. Happy is a spunky Welsh pony cross. I love and adore Happy because we are so much alike, a bit all over the place but open with a pure heart. It also reminds me of a wonderful magical moment I had in Ireland when I was greeted by a Connemara pony.

Riding horseback on the beach has been a lifelong dream for both my daughter and me. Finally, when I moved to Palm Coast, I was able to make that happen to celebrate both of our birthdays. I found Jennifer Milo’s company, Equestrian Adventures of Florida. She provides horseback riding at Cinnamon beach in Palm Coast, which was just down the road from where we are renting. After our ride we asked Jennifer if she needed volunteers and through her generosity and kindness she agreed. Through our days of volunteering, my daughter and I have learned so much more about these beautiful animals. I am forever grateful to Jennifer for these precious treasured experiences and for her special loving friendship.‍ ‍

The inspiration for this painting came through while I was moving through a deep spiritual and emotional transformational healing. While I was moving through some blockages that I needed to release from my body I heard my Higher Self say, “paint the feelings and allow those feelings to transform you.” The door opened and the emotions flowed onto the canvas.

For over a year, my husband and I have been working on creating our 3rd Act Chapter together. We have been looking for a new home for this new era of our lives. Nothing seemed to fit. We looked everywhere. There were so many “almost” houses but nothing was just right. Then our daughter asked us to move to Savannah and she helped us to find our new lovely home. Without her powerful intuition and love we would not be celebrating the finding of the perfect home.

This painting represents all of it… the alchemy of gold.  

When I finished the painting I knew I had found the lost parts I had suppressed long ago. By reclaiming these parts I found more power and strength to take me to a whole new level of self love and confidence. I felt empowered to own my dreams much more fully. Then the house came effortlessly.

I was rising like the sun.

(Also I want to add …my wonderful miracle worker realtor Mary Ann helped us find our dream home I knew when I met her she would create my Miracle on 34th Street. She was born on Christmas Day and her parents are named Mary and Joseph). Some kind of story huh? I do love me some stories and synchronicities .

Oh I have to add this part …

the horse was inspired by my sweet, powerful and beautiful friend Jennifer’s horse, Midas (even though I didn’t know when I painting this). Jennifer owns Equestrian Adventures of Florida (horseback riding on the beach) and Midas was a dear favorite of mine. What a wonderful blessing Jennifer has been throughout this adventure! She introduced me to Deb, a beautiful strong gorgeous lady who has taught me more than she’ll ever know. I will leave Palm Coast with a full heart. I have been fortunate to meet strong independent ladies!
